Welcome to ISWA’s Brand New First Ever Study Tour on Biological Waste Treatment!

See five top technologies in five days, with three mega-site visits in three Flemish cities of Belgium! Belgium allegedly has most advanced collection and sorting systems in the whole of Europe!

PROGRAMME

This Study Tour explores a practical range of biological waste treatments, including anaerobic digestion, aerobic and mechanical-biological treatments; complemented with seminar lectures covering legal, planning and communication issues.

The five-day tour is organised and led by Christof Delatter of Interafval on behalf of the Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities and includes three major site visits in the cities of Kortrijk, Ypres and Geel.

Particular focus is paid to challenges and approaches to separated and mixed source waste streams, highlighting new membrane techniques and pre-digestion technology as well as the overall prevention of biological waste.

The programme is tailored for both professional waste managers as well as municipal planners. The comprehensive range of topics offers an ideal overview for urban and environmental policy makers as well as potential investors.
